To once again introduce ways to protect your accounts and share tips for a safer Black Desert experience, [GM] has arrived!
Today's security campaign is led by [GM] Cyber Sheriff!
Greetings, Adventurers. I'm [GM], your host for today's security campaign.
With this year's security campaign announcement, I hope we can all emphasize the importance of security and move towards a safer and more enjoyable Black Desert experience.
There are several ways to protect your accounts, and I'll briefly introduce the key methods!
Let's dive into today's security campaign steps!

[Step 1 – Set OTP]
Secure your account!
OTP is one of the most widely used account security measures. By using a real-time, constantly updated verification code system, it enhances your account securityLet's learn how to use it together!
① Secure your account by setting up a one-time password (OTP).
② You can check the settings on the OTP Settings page.
③ Here’s how to set your OTP.
(1) On the OTP Settings page, click the [Set up OTP Verification] button to proceed with verifying your identity.
(2) Review the steps and notices related to the service, then click [Set up OTP Verification].
(3) Install an OTP authentication application (Google OTP/Authenticator) on your phone.
(4) Open the installed app (Google OTP/Authenticator), then press the “+” button in the app to register your OTP via either “Enter a setup key” or “Scan a QR code.”
(5) After registering, check the OTP verification code in the app, and enter it on the website.
④ Once OTP registration is complete, every time you log into Black Desert, you will be requested to enter the OTP code from your authentication app.

[Step2 - Set Secondary Password]
Enhanced, flawless security!
The secondary password is a security measure familiar to most of our Adventurers. It is a number you input on the screen right before the server and character selection screens. This secondary password serves as a verification method to confirm your identity right before you start using Black Desert. If you lose or wish to change this password, a secure identity verification process is required. Follow the convenient steps below to periodically reset your secondary password!① Click the button under “Reset Black Desert Secondary Password” to proceed with resetting the secondary password for your game.
② Once your secondary password has been reset, enter your new secondary password to use to log into the game.
Black Desert not only offers a secondary manual authentication method but also has its own security system to protect Adventurer accounts. If any abnormal login attempts are detected or if a security check is deemed necessary, an automatic email verification system is in place to ensure your account's safety!

The simplest & most effective prevention!
Black Desert offers various account security measures to protect Adventurer accounts. However, the most crucial step is for Adventurers to be mindful of their accounts and regularly change their passwords themselves.
Let's work together to safeguard your valuable account and personal information, and foster a safer Black Desert community!

② Ensure your new password is different from any previously used passwords.
- Set your password to be 10-16 characters long, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- For enhanced security, we recommend using a password that has never been used before.
