The current implementation of hard AP caps in grinding zones does not make sense from a progression standpoint.

Grinding efficiency is already naturally limited by spawn rates and clear speeds. If a player becomes stronger, they should be able to grind faster. That’s the reward loop BDO was built on. Progressing gear to improve grinding speed and silver per hour.

Hitting TET to PEN Dande was a game changer, hitting TET to PEN Blackstar weapon was felt

Right now, getting stronger feels meaningless. You finally tap a pen item or reach a new gear milestone, but then you realize your damage hasn’t changed because the spot you're grinding at is hard capped. That’s not satisfying, it’s insulting. You're told to go to a "better" spot, but that new spot just resets you to the same clear speed, with the same rotations, and the same struggle. Where’s the payoff for progressing?

This design creates an illusion of progression, where in reality you're locked into one specific zone for your gearscore, grinding at a fixed pace. The game becomes less about power scaling and more about staying in your lane, a lane with no freedom or variety.

It’s even worse when trying to help friends. Boosting a newer player in capped zones like Gyfin Underground feels embarrassing. You’re just as weak as you were years ago, despite years of upgrades.

On top of that, modern grinding has become boring: you stand in one place, lantern up, no rotations, no mob pulling, no class skill mastery to move around to extend rotations. There’s no incentive to use your movement, creativity, or game knowledge anymore.

If the goal is to avoid overperformance in old spots, there are better ways than punishing player progression. There are still dozens of unused areas with terrible loot and low value, why not revamp those instead of capping newer areas?

Please reconsider this direction. Reward strength. Let players feel the satisfaction of progressing. Don’t punish them for getting stronger.

From a player-centric perspective, I strongly agree with the concerns raised.

The frustration over hard AP caps in the game is a common sentiment among us players. It directly undermines the core MMORPG pleasure of feeling your character get stronger and seeing that power translate into more efficient grinding. It creates a sense of stagnation rather than the rewarding progression BDO was built on.
