In yesterday's 2025 Calpheon Ball, Pearl Abyss gave a sudden 1-minute announcement that War Heroes will no longer be allowed to participate in Guild Boss Raids (GBR), claiming that it is necessary to do this so that rewards for GBR can be increased.

As you know, this is actually a GAME-KILLING decision, because the ONLY guild content that the majority of players and guilds can reliably provide to their guild members and other players is the Guild Boss Raid (GBR).

We know that if this "rework" is implemented, a huge number of players will suddenly lose their main game content quit the game.  Countless guilds will die.  Black Desert Online itself may not survive very long after that.

I think it is necessary for all Guild Masters to express their opinion about this matter to Pearl Abyss, so they can see FACTUAL EVIDENCE.

So, here is the petition:

[PETITION] War Heroes MUST BE ALLOWED for Guild Boss Raids

If you AGREE, please have your GUILD MASTER login here and Reply below

Guild Name, Guild Master Family Name

I'll go first.  Let's let Pearl Abyss know reality

I agree with this perspective.
What Pearl Abyss may be overlooking is that the GBR system was not originally designed to cater to highly active or competitive playstyles. Rather, it serves as a social platform that allows members from different guilds to gather, communicate, and build connections within the game. Through GBR, I have had opportunities to interact with others, engage in meaningful conversations, and form new friendships.

The changes currently being considered appear likely to further reduce these social interactions. As an online game, Black Desert has always thrived on player connection and community engagement. However, these adjustments give the impression that the game is being steered toward a more isolated, solo-player experience.

There are many players who regularly log in specifically during the daily GBR period in order to greet one another, socialize, and maintain a sense of community. To be completely honest, without the existence of the daily GBR system, I may no longer feel motivated to log into the game.

Bro, war heroes are mercenaries not your actual "guild members".

You just want easy money, stop crying and spend more time building an actual guild with members who you can enjoy time with

Let's PM war guild GM telling them GBR is the ONLY content in the game, what could possibly go wrong

My guild has been part of the GBR alliance since the first revamp, and we’ve been doing boss subjugation every day. Although this has reduced our income, our alliance has now decided to merge into a single guild. It will be a fresh start for me and my friends. Maybe Pearl Abyss planned this to push the “GBR Alliance” to consolidate and create more PvP content, so I’m not entirely against the developers decision this time.

@Katagi, guild masters (like me) can't be war heroes. Do you really think I'm drooling over 1.2 billion silver per week for myself?

What I'm worried about is how this affects every guild and player, and the game itself.  On a more personal level, how it affects our guild members and returning war heroes when they join our GBR and other guilds' GBR.  Most of our war heroes join our GBR every week, including former guild members.  They are our friends in the game.

For some of them, this has been their main content in the game since almost 2 years ago, and there is no guild content that can replace it.

With the war heroes being blocked from joining other guilds' GBR, the co-op play that we have had for 2 years will be GONE.

On another note, our guild is one of the oldest on SEA server, since closed beta 2017.  Our guild actually started in 2012 (C9), and we moved to BDO SEA during closed beta in 2017.  We keep members long-term, even when they are inactive.

I didn't say GBR is the only content that exists in the game, I said it is the only guild content that most guilds and players can participate in.

What % of guilds and the playerbase do you think partipates in node wars, what what % of the guilds and playerbase do you think participates in GBR?

GBR was accessible to everyone, but node wars are not.  The majority of players are only interested in PvE content.

By all means, improve Node Wars, Conquest and all other content.  But there is no need to block war heroes from GBR.

Here's a translation of what I posted at the GM Note Page of the Calpheon Ball, in case you are wondering about the reasons.

https://www.kr.playblackdesert.com/ko-KR/News/Detail?groupContentNo=14930

I’m BladeRunner, and I’ve been running the BROTHERHOOD guild on the Black Desert Asia server from the 2017 Closed Beta up to now. Since I already know that submitting this through tickets doesn’t get properly delivered at all, Black Desert ops team and management—take a look.
This Calpheon Ball had some of the most lacking content among all the Calpheon/Heidel Balls so far, but since a large Edania-related update came out not long ago, that isn’t the issue.
The issue is that you “not allowing War Heroes (mercenaries) to participate in Guild Raids” was announced like it was nothing—talked about roughly for only about a minute—and then you’re saying you’ll proceed immediately without any countermeasures.
I don’t know whether it’s because you aren’t in the position of actually playing this game yourselves, or because you didn’t major in business and don’t understand the seriousness of the matter — but this is a problem directly connected to whether Black Desert itself survives or not.
Among new users who start the game, those who don’t join a guild mostly play a normal or season character for a few hours to a few days and then quit, and most of them don’t make paid purchases.
Only when you join a guild, communicate with guild members, and social relationships form do you meet the basic conditions to keep playing the game for a long time. You have to play for a long time to buy paid outfits, pets, items, etc.
In other words, the guild system is directly connected to the survival of Black Desert. If guilds can’t survive, Black Desert can’t survive either.
The main reason guilds have been able to survive for the past few years is not node wars or conquest wars — it’s Guild Raids.
Most users aren’t interested in PvP, and even if they are, most users don’t have the time to struggle over a limited number of nodes just to receive rewards that aren’t even much. So only an extremely small number of guilds participate in node wars, and even within those guilds, only some of the members participate in node wars / conquest wars. To put it a bit exaggeratedly, those guilds and users are only a handful. In the Asia server’s case, not even 1% of all users would participate.
On the other hand, most users who play the game for a long time participate in just one guild content, and that is Guild Raids. Regular users who don’t have time can even complete it within about 15 to 30 minutes a week, and they play in a reasonably enjoyable way with War Hero/mercenary users from their own guild and from other guilds. It’s “killer content” that they make time for at least once a week and definitely participate in.
In that case you receive about 1,200,000,000 silver, which is money you can earn in a similar amount of time at high-level grind spots, but the stress is lower and the fun and satisfaction are high. So you do it once a week. Even if you do nothing but AFK fish all week, you don’t quit the game, because you do this content once a week with your “friends.” With this silver you can only buy 400 Cron Stones; it’s a small amount where you can’t even do a single enhancement attempt, but still the satisfaction is high. This is the only killer content of Black Desert’s guild system.
Users who have a bit more free time participate in Guild Raids a few times a week, or up to a maximum of 7 times, as War Heroes/mercenaries for their own guild and for other guilds. So then you earned only 8,400,000,000 silver over the week — a small amount that you could earn in one hour at a high-level grind spot — but even so, for users who do Guild Raids this often, this content is the driving force for playing this game.
If you make it so War Hero/mercenary players can’t participate in Guild Raids, then the absolute majority of guilds and guild members who don’t do conquest wars / node wars will no longer be able to do their only guild content — or their only game content.
Only a few percent of guilds can run raids entirely on their own, and even if they can do it on their own, unlike before it won’t be a crowded, lively Guild Raid; it will be done with relatively fewer people and take longer. Also, after having fun playing together with users from other guilds for about two years, suddenly starting this week there’s no content to do together anymore.
A guild where the only content that all guild members want to do has disappeared — how long do you think it can survive?
Do you think other guilds can “somehow survive” like our BROTHERHOOD guild has, from 2017 until now in 2025?
If you don’t want to actually see most guilds fall apart within a few months and the number of game users drop to less than half, then it would be better to throw this stupid idea—excluding War Heroes/mercenaries from Guild Raids—into the trash today.
If you think that increasing Guild Raid rewards by a few dozen percent makes it better than the existing system, you’re thinking completely wrong, and the person who suggested and pushed this idea is someone who shouldn’t participate in overall strategy/planning. Not J himself, I presume?
Stop doing crazy things and cancel it—wipe it to a blank slate.

One more thing. If you use A.I., it won’t take more than a few minutes to analyze the chat logs and see what reaction the overwhelming majority of users are showing while talking in in-game chat about War Heroes/mercenaries—so make sure you analyze tonight’s chat logs.
