Hi all! On the recent update in Black Desert Online, we have boost on Barter.

Most of the veterans already owned Epheria Carrack. Some even owned all 4 of the Carracks and even Panokseon. How's the new barter update looks like for you?

As for the beginner, don't worry. In this guide, I will try to make you feel better (hopefully) by showing you how u can get your own boat.

First of all, you need to think which of the Epheria Carrack you want and need in the future since there are 4 types of carracks to choose from (Volante, Valor, Advance, and Balance).

Why I ask this is because Volante and Valor is from Galleass, upgraded from Epheria Frigate while Advance and Balance is from Caravel, upgraded from Epheria Sailboat. All boats has their own amount of material needed for the upgrades.

So deciding which you want first, then we look backwards on which boat and material needed.

Of course, some people will say "Why bother to make it? Just 1 tap CM will do."

Yea, sure... Just search for "Ship License" or scroll down to the "Ship" menu on the left and you can see there's few ship licenses you can buy from the Central Market.

If you have extra 40-50bil silver sitting in your inventory or Central Market untouched/unused, then go ahead and click "Buy". But as for now, there's PO in the market and who knows when will the next one be sold.

For starters, we can buy this. Epheria Sailboat for 565mil silver or Epheria Frigate for 3.3bil silver. There are some listed in the market as of 30th April 2026.

You may also get Epheria Sailboat/Frigate from exchanging your [Event] Resplendent Shakatu's Seal in manage currency. But this is a bit not worth it since the seals are hard to get.

If you dont feel like buying and want to try making it from scratch, this is where I can teach you. I also craft my own Epheria Sailboat and Epheria Frigate from scratch. Collecting the materials and do daily quests while having my worker working on the items I've collected, it's fun for some reason. Although it is time consuming, but to me, I feel the achievement and satisfaction.

You can go to Philaberto Falasi in Port Epheria for a daily quest which give you blueprints of the boat of your choice.

Remember to get the quest from him.

After accepting the quest from Philaberto Falasi, you need to transport 2 of these boxes to Sebastian, the Guild Wharf Manager.

Remember to use the "Chat" button after you put down the box next to him and run back to collect the box again. After completing transporting 2 boxes to Sebastian, remember to go back to Philaberto Falasi to complete your quest for the rewards.

You may also continue with the recurring quest which gives you 1 blueprint of your choice (you need to hand in 10 of the requested gems to Philaberto Falasi).

So, with this quest, you get 5 of blueprint of your choice (either you want to make Sailboat or Frigate) but do remember, Sailboat needed 20 of the blueprint, while Frigate need 25.

You will need to have some spare Contribution Points to unlock some of the houses in Port Epheria and invest on Lodgings for you to hire workers.

While you still collecting the blueprint, you may want to start collect and put worker on the nodes for some collected materials.

As you can see here, you need materials such as Standardized Timber Square, Steel, Pine Plywood and Flax Fabric for Sailboat, and Standardized Timber Square, Jade Coral Ingot, Pine Coated Plywood, and Enhanced Flax Fabric for Frigate.

All of these materials can be bought in CM but some of them are in PO which makes it longer to make your boat.

So, you can put worker in nodes such as..

If you are making Frigate, you will need more effort on making the Jade Coral Ingot and the get the following nodes.

You also need to do some self gather as well especially for the Standardized Timber Square. Any logs will do (I used to gather Pine Timber in Treant Forest and near Florin since I need to use it later). Just chop chop from the tree, and chop chop in the Processing window (L).

If you keep doing this routine, after 1-2 months of the daily chopping, hopefully, you will get your first Epheria Sailboat or Epheria Frigate.

Now you can start your bartering dailies slowly while collecting the materials for the next upgrades of your boat.
