Welcome to Black Desert!

UI can be overwhelming at first but here's some recommended settings you can copy for smoother and better gameplay.

To access the "Game Settings" you can press

Esc > Settings

TIP! Did you see the pinned features on my menu?

Press RMB > Pin Menu like in the screenshot below

Once you access the settings, you will see a bunch of options in General.

I will only highlight the important ones, if I do not state them you can play around as you see fit.

>> QUALITY OF LIFE <<

You can turn on "Combat Assistance" if you're very new to help guide which skills to use.

>> SHOW / HIDE <<

You can change your UI HP and Stamina bar look. Simply enable the "Custom HP Bar".

I personally prefer the "Custom HP" because you get to place them anywhere on your screen.

This makes seeing your HP and Stamina bar more easily.

Another setting that you can disable (if you're comfy) is the Hit Detection and Miss Effect.

Disabling them may help with slight FPS boost, however you wouldn't know if you did a

successful Back Attack / Miss when you're new.

This is one of the most important thing to disable if you're the type of person to get salty easily XD

Or maybe you just dont want your top notification to be showing too much.

>> EFFECTS <<

Sometimes you may suffer from extreme darkness in caves or dark areas and instead of popping a firefly,

you can always play around with these settings.

As stated in the image above, Slide Right on the Gamma for brighter graphics.

If you think it's not bright enough, Slide Left on Contrast for less shadow.

!Tip Please do it slowly and don't go maximum immediately otherwise it might look worse D:

>> CAMERA GRAPHICS <<

To get a better view when you're playing, set the Camera Vision Range to 100.

Camera effects can be set to 0 for better gameplay. However, if you're fine with many

vibrations and motion blur, you can leave them be.

>> MISC <<

There are a couple UI themes that you can choose if you want a fresh look.

Navigation guide type is your own choice, I personally like arrows better because it helps me

to know where I should be going. Set the navigation path setting to Exact on Land and Smooth on Water.

It will make your boat get stuck way less frequently when AFK.

My go-to settings when taking photos.

8K Resolution makes your photos HD and PNG makes them Lossless.

Want to customize your chat boxes?

Hover top left > Gear Icon

Once you click, you will see a window pop-up. You can change what kind of system notification and

which chat do you want to see on that specific window.

To customize your UI Placement, you can access in

Esc > Edit UI

You can move everything else except for the Red Areas. Place them to your liking!

I personally place CD (Skill Cooldown) near the middle so I can keep track of my class skill usage.

Have you ever wonder why you coulnd't see certain quests?

Make sure to turn on All Quest Type!

O > Quest Type > Click 1st Icon

However, if you still can't access it there are 2 other factors:

1. You do not reach the level requirements.

2. You haven't done the pre-exquisite quests.
