Housing

Housing is an integral part of the economy of Black Desert. You can purchase houses in any of the main cities, and they are used for many different functions. One house can be purchased by many players, and the function and decoration of each room will be unique to the player.

How to buy a house

You can purchase houses from the world map screen. Find the city you need to purchase the property in and press the ‘A/X’ button. This will open up a ring menu, and from there you will need to press the ‘Enter’ button which will show you a more detailed map of the city. On this menu, you will see different icons depending on the state of the property.

: You own this property already

: You currently do not meet the requirements to purchase the property

 : House can be purchased

Navigate the pointer to the house you wish to purchase and press A/X. You will then be presented with a window which will allow you to select the type of property that you wish to purchase. Some properties require other properties

Types of Property

When you are trying to purchase a property, you will be presented with a list of options that property can be used for. Select the type of housing that you want with ‘A/X’. Below is a sample of the properties you can purchase.

  • Storage - This adds additional slots to your city warehouse.
  • Residence - Residences are your homes in Black Desert. You can decorate them, add useful tools such as a cooking utensil, and beds which will allow you to recover energy quicker when slept in.
  • Lodging - Allows you to hire more workers in that city.
  • Furniture Workshop - You can send workers here to craft furniture for your house.
  • Horse Ranch - Adds more slots to that cities stables.
  • Armor Workshop - You can send workers here to craft armor
  • Weapon Workshop - You can send workers here to craft weapons made from metal.
  • Carpentry Workshop - Sending workers here allows them to craft weapons made from wood. You can also craft waterways and scarecrows for farming.
  • Tool Workshop - Workers sent here will be able to craft tools for life skilling.
  • Refinery - Gives your workers a place to craft Black Stone Powder and Black Stones.
  • Jeweler - Workers here can craft various accessories.
  • Costume Mill - Allows your workers to craft costumes.
  • Shipyard - Allows you to craft ships.

Customizing your residence

A residence is a place to call your own. At your residence, you can install furniture to make your place look nice, or install tools which will make your residence more useful. Tools such as the Alchemy tool, and the Cooking Utensil must be placed inside a residence. The usage of your personal residence is whatever you would like it to be.

Placement Mode

If you have purchased furniture for your residence, you can place it anywhere as long as it does not block the doorway to the house. To access placement mode, once you are inside your residence press up on the D-Pad.
