Tuvala Gear

On season servers, you can obtain special season gear called Tuvala gear!

▲ Tuvala gear at full PEN (V)

Tuvala gear is easy to obtain and enhance, making it perfect for new adventurers. It offers solid stats and can later be exchanged for Boss gear, Blackstar weapons, Kharazad accessories, and Slumbering Origin defense gear, helping you progress smoothly.

※ If a season is not currently in progress, Narchillan gear is highly recommended.

How to Obtain Tuvala Gear

Tuvala gear con only be obtained by season characters on the season server. Season characters can only be created when a season is in progress.

- [Learn more about season servers here]

1. Convert Naru Gear to Tuvala Gear

If you have PEN (V) Naru gear (excluding accessories) on your Season Character, you can convert it to PRI (I) Tuvala gear via Black Spirit - Enhancement.

▲ You can go to Black Spirit - Enhancement and convert your PEN (V) Naru gear to PRI (I) Tuvala gear (accessories excluded).

Naru gear is needed to exchange for Tuvala gear, which can be obtained via the main questline.

Check out the Naru gear guide here ▶

※ How do i get PRI (I) Tuvala Awakening Weapon?

When you complete the awakening questline for a character on the season server, you will obtain a PRI (I) Tuvala Awakening Weapon for that character.

2. Exchange Time-filled Black Stones for Tuvala Gear

You can also get Tuvala gear and accessories by trading Time-filled Black Stones via the blacksmith NPC in major cities.

▲ Visit a blacksmith NPC and open the Exchange menu to trade Time-filled Black Stones for any part of Tuvala gear.

As a Season Character, you can earn Time-filled Black Stones by defeating monsters in the Season Servers, except in certain monster zones. Visit blacksmith NPCs in major cities and use the Exchange menu to trade Time-filled Black Stones for the Tuvala gear you need.

※ Tuvala gear obtained with Time-filled Black Stones comes unenhanced, unlike Tuvala gear exchanged from PEN (V) Naru gear. For this reason, weapons and armor are typically converted from PEN (V) Naru gear, while accessories are usually exchanged from Time-filled Black Stones.

※ If you exchanged for the wrong Tuvala gear

You can use Heating to convert it back into Time-filled Black Stones. For accessories, even enhanced items can be converted. For weapons and armor, only unenhanced gear can be reverted.

Enhancing Tuvala Weapons/Armor

Tuvala weapons and armor can be enhanced with Time-filled Black Stones.

Time-Filled Black Stone (Enhancement)

Time-Filled Black Stones and Refined Magical Black Stones can be used to enhance your Tuvala gear. Time-Filled Black Stones can be found all over the world of Black Desert on season servers, though larger quantities can be obtained in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and O’dyllita.

Enhancement failures up to TRI (III) will not drop your enhancement level, but from TET (IV) onward, failures can drop the level by one.

Tuvala gear is easier to enhance than regular gear, but more difficult than Naru gear. You can use Black Stones or Advice of Valks items to increase your enhancement chances.

Failed enhancements reduce Max Durability. From TET (IV) and higher, failed attempts also drop enhancement level.

※ (Reference) Enhancement Chance Increases

The following are recommended enhancement chances (or stacks) that you should use when going for each level.

Attempting For Recommended Enhancement Chance Sucess Rate
DUO (II) - 100.00%
TRI (III) - 100.00%
TET (IV) 40 35.00%
PEN (V) 60 35.00%

※ Restoring Durability of Tuvala Weapons and Armors

If you use Refined Magical Black Stones to enhance, your Tuvala gear will see a sharp decrease in its maximum durability. Restore Max Durability at the blacksmith NPC by using unenhanced Tuvala gear of the same type or Time-filled Black Stones. Visit the Blacksmith NPC in any major city and open the "Repair" menu, then select "Recover Max Dur." Select your Tuvala gear to begin.

For every 5 Max Durability you restore, you can use either one Time-filled Black Stone or one piece of Tuvala gear.

※ Recommended Order of Enhancing Tuvala Gear

There is not set order, but in general, weapons are prioritized before armors. However, if you are taking too much damage from certain spots, you may want to focus a bit on armor first.

- Succession Characters

Main weapon, sub-weapon, awakening weapon, then armor (go from higher defence to lower)

- Awakening Characters

Awakening weapon, sub-weapon, main weapon, then armor (go from higher defence to lower)

Enhancing Tuvala Accessories

Unlike Tuvala gear and weapons, accessories can only be enhanced using unenhanced accessories of the same type. Also, from TET (IV) onward, failed enhancement destroys the accessory.

Tuvala accessories are obtained by exchanging Time-filled Black Stones at the blacksmith NPC. Keep in mind that you can only use base accessories to enhance your Tuvala accessories. For example, a PRI (I) Tuvala Ring cannot be used to attempt a TET (IV) Tuvala Ring enhancement. You will need a base Tuvala Ring in order to attempt the TET (IV) enhancement.

Because accessories will be destroyed if you fail an enhancement, it is highly recommended to have higher enhancement chances before attempting an accessory enhancement.

* (Reference) Enhancement Chance Increases

The following are the recommended enhancement chances for enhancing Tuvala accessories.

Attempting for Enhancement Chance Success Rate
PRI (I) - 100.00%
DUO (II) - 100.00%
TRI (III) - 100.00%
TET (IV) 35 59.50%
PEN (V) 40 50.40%

※ One ring, one earring!

Upon reaching levels 60 and 61 with your Season Character, you'll receive a PEN (V) Tuvala Ring and Earring. You only need to prepare one of each, as the rest will be provided as rewards.

Season Tuvala Gear > Regular Tuvala Gear

Season Tuvala Gear > Regular Tuvala Gear

Tuvala equipment is divided into season specific gear and regular gear. The differences are as follows:

- Season Tuvala Gear: Only usable by Season Characters. Can be enhanced and repaired with Time-filled Black Stones.

- Normal Tuvala Gear: Only usable by normal characters. Cannot be enhanced or repaired with Time-filled Black Stones.

▲ Season gear will have a special icon!

You can see which gear can be used on the season servers by looking for the icon shown above.

You can convert Season Tuvala gear to normal Tuvala gear by graduating your Season Character.

▲ Regular Tuvala gear cannot be enhanced with Time-filled Black Stones.

Because you cannot enhance regular Tuvala gear, it is highly recommended to enhance to PEN (V) before it converts into regular gear!

- Conversion due to Graduation

You can graduate your Season Character by completing the Season Pass. Once you graduate, your Season Character will become a normal character, and your Season Tuvala gear will be converted to normal Tuvala gear.

Reforming Tuvala Gear

You can further improve the capabilities of your Tuvala gear by reforming it!

Item Required Stone Effect
Tuvala Main/Awakening Weapon Combatant’s Stone (Weapon) Extra AP Against Monsters +7
Tuvala Sub-Weapon Combatant’s Stone (Weapon) Extra AP Against Monsters +3, Monster Damage Reduction +3
Tuvala Armor (Helmet, Armor, Gloves, Shoes) Combatant’s Stone (Armor) Monster Damage Reduction +7

You can obtain these special stones by heating Narchillan gear, but once this is done it cannot be reverted. Be very sure that you want to do this!

You can obtain Narchillan gear through PEN (V) Naru gear and through quests.
