December 24th Update Notice
Hello Adventurers, This is the Black Desert Console Service Team.
We're informing you of the latest update applied after the scheduled maintenance on Dec 24 (Wed).
Today's update brings class balance adjustments, Olvia Academia construction, and more.
We hope these help you embark on better adventures in game, Adventurers!

Previously, Warrior Awakening often required you to pay close attention to skill order and whether All AP Increase effects were active in order to pull off stronger skill combos. With this update, we've added the All AP Increase effects from [Greatsword Training] and [Greatsword Barrier] to [Chain: Heaven's Cleave], so you can focus on your own playstyle without worrying about those conditions.
In addition, we've adjusted the defense effect of [Charging Thrust], allowing it to serve as an additional option when you need to engage or disengage.

- Changed the defensive effect: Forward Guard → Super Armor


- Added All AP +32 for 10 sec when using the skill.
- This effect matches the All AP Increase granted by Greatsword Training and Greatsword Defense.

- Changed the motions to appear more natural.

- Moved the attack area in the direction closer to the character.
- Changed the PvE damage as follows.

- Changed the "Pull in the target on orb blast attack hits" effect as follows.
- Reduced the number of the effect triggers to one-third.
- Doubled the movement distance of affected targets.
- Changed to apply All Speed -50% for 1 sec to affected targets.

Valkyrie Succession now grants Super Armor on attack 3 of [Prime: Sword of Judgment], making its combos more reliable when used with other skills.
- Added Super Armor during attack 3, changed the Bound on hits effect to PvE only.

- Changed the amount of the "Recover HP on ally and self hits" effect: 600 → 850

- Changed the "Pull in the target on hits" effect as follows.
- Reduced the number of the effect triggers to one-third.
- Doubled the movement distance of affected targets.
- Changed to apply All Speed -50% for 1 sec to affected targets.

Witch Awakening skills now deal higher PvP damage, improving damage output relative to casting speed.
- Changed the Critical Hit Rate +50% effect to now also be applied during PvP.

- Changed the Critical Hit Rate +30% effect to now also be applied during PvP.
- Changed the PvP damage ratios for the following skills:

- Removed the Push effects from some Echo Spirit attacks.

- Reduced the number of the effect triggers to one-third.
- Doubled the movement distance of affected targets.
- Changed to apply All Speed -50% for 1 sec to affected targets.

For Guardian Succession, we've added the new [Succession: Juggernaut] skill to provide a more reliable option when engaging or disengaging in battle. When used in combination with [Rockslide], it allows you to cover a long distance in a short time, giving you more freedom to decide when to go in or pull out. We've also adjusted the cooldown and made it quicker to combo into [Fierce Disdain] from Rockslide III, increasing your opportunities to punish openings in the enemy's defenses.

- Added the Succession: Juggernaut skill.
- Auto-activates when performing Juggernaut upon learning Succession: Guardian's Glory.

For Nova Awakening, we improved how [Comet], [Royal Fencing: Lunge], and [Break Orbit] link together so you can pressure openings more aggressively when comboing attacks with [Break Orbit].

- Added the effect to reset Break Orbit and Accel: Break Orbit cooldowns on hits.

- Changed the "Pull in the target on hits" effect as follows.
- Reduced the number of the effect triggers to one-fourth.
- Doubled the movement distance of affected targets.
- Unified the attack area to the largest possible area.
- The reduction does not apply for PvP.
- Changed to apply an All Speed -50% for 1 sec on targets of the effect.
- Normal & Accel: Added the "Forward Guard" effect.


- Changed the "Pull in the target on hits" effect as follows.
- Reduced the number of the effect triggers to one-third.
- Doubled the movement distance of affected targets.
- Changed to apply All Speed -50% for 1 sec to affected targets.

For Drakania’s Succession, one of her key traits is enduring enemy attacks in battle by utilizing the "Recover HP" effects of [Markthanan's Heart]. However, recently, this trait hasn't been as effective as we intended. To address this, we’ve increased the defensive capabilities of a major skill for survivability, [Prime: Markthanan’s Scale].

- Changed the Damage Reduction Rate.
- Damage Reduction +55% → +80%

- Changed the skill as follows:
- Increased the number of times 500 HP is recovered when using Prime: Markthanan's Scale: 14 times → 20 times

- Added skills to stockpile ions during the skill as follows.

Wukong has been updated to increase opportunities to dash toward distant foes while in Fighting Buddha state. The defense effects for [Pierce!] and [Extend!] now remain active through the end of the attack, rather than ending before the attack motion begins.
Also, the PvP damage rate in normal state has been increased for adventurers who take advantage of normal state's faster skill actions compared to Fighting Buddha state.

- Adjusted the rotation speed at the start of the skill in normal state to be about 6% faster.

- [Warrior] Core: Frenzied Strikes - Fixed the issue where movement using the direction keys after using Frenzied Strikes was slower than before learning the Core skill.
- [Ranger] Cold Blade - Fixed the issue where the skill could be comboed with other skills and activated from attack 2 without applying cooldown.
- [Wizard, Witch] Magical Evasion, Earth's Response - Fixed the issue where using the skills would trigger a falling animation on low terrain.
- [Dark Knight] Prime: Ravage Rake - Fixed the issue where the skill could be activated with the ↓ key held down, unlike I to Absolute.
- [Woosa] Life Lure - Fixed the abnormal casting delay.
- [Woosa] Flow: River's End - Fixed the issue where the skill would not cast in the camera's direction.
- [Woosa] Blooming Death - Fixed the issue where the character would awkwardly move backward during the skill.
- [Maegu] Bristling Sparks - Fixed the issue where camera rotation would slow down during the skill after certain skills.
- [Maegu] Emberclaw Finale - Fixed the issue where the character would move forward during the skill.
- [Deadeye] From Canary with Love - Improved the issue where being struck by another character during the skill would trigger a falling animation.
- [Kunoichi] Delighted Blast - Fixed the issue where the skill's projectile would sometimes pull in targets on hits.
- [Guardian] Rockslide I - Fixed the issue where, if the skill was on cooldown, attempting to activate the skill after using Succession: Juggernaut would cause abnormal movements.
- [Guardian] Succession: Dragon's Calling - Fixed the issue where the Critical Hit Rate increase per stack effect from Succession: Flame of the Calling was not applied on hits.
"Choose Your Rare Hammer Box!" Challenge
Fresh challenges are now available for adventurers who have reached 340 AP or higher. With each AP milestone you hit, you'll earn a Choose Your Rare Hammer Box.This update is designed to recapture the sense of achievement from earlier days, when reaching certain AP and DP thresholds through Black Spirit quests came with special rewards.
We hope this makes progression feel more rewarding and helps you enjoy your journey through Black Desert even more.

- Added a new Challenge, "Choose Your Rare Hammer Box!", which unlocks each time your displayed AP increases by set amounts, starting from 340 AP.
- There are 20 total challenges, with the required displayed AP for each as follows:

MONSTER
- Improved recovery orbs in boss monster combat zones, such as the Black Shrine, so adventurers can now pass through them.

- Changed Gumiho's mechanic in Black Shrine - Donghae (Solo): Calamity 8 to 10 to use dash attacks less frequently when engaging in melee combat.

- Added a new quest regarding the construction of the Olvia Academy.

- Moved Kyrio from Olvia Coast to the Olvia Academy Wharf, where he now gazes out at the sea.

UI
- Improved the Secret Shop UI to no longer close immediately upon purchasing an item.
- Improved mole encounters during farming to avoid confusion about whether all moles have been taken care of.
- Once you've dealt with all the moles, the "No more moles detected." message will display.

- Fixed the issue in Black Shrine - Donghae (Solo) Calamity 8 where CC Resistance was fixed to a certain stat.
- Changed the title screen message displayed when a refund is processed through the platform store.
- [PS5] Fixed an issue where the graphics could become corrupted when using a skill in certain situations.
- Fixed the issue where a white screen would appear when opening the World Map while entering The Magnus.
- Fixed the issue where the move item feature wouldn't work when the Inventory was sorted by Categories.
