These tips are made based on real experiences that were kidnapped by NPC boats when AFK fishing, and had to swim home.

So, I don't want it to happen to you either.

but of course, there are many other scenarios that happen how your character will be trapped in the middle of the ocean...

First scenario:
you have a friend with a boat, simply ask them to pick you up, in party state the minimap will show you the direction of where you are with a blue pen direction indicator, this is still visible even if you are on a map with special circumstances like desert and Margoria sea where you are restricted view when looking at the map, but keep in mind the direction indicator is only visible in the party, and cannot be seen in the platoon.

Second Scenario:
you don't have friends or you want to go home independently, You just won't bothering other people.

In this second scenario, we can separate where you are trapped in the sea which is still visible on the map, I simulated myself being trapped in several different locations.

on the first try I did the "Esc > Escape" activity, and my character successfully returned to land, but keep in mind "Esc > Escape" has a rather long cooldown, so use it wisely.

in the 2nd try the character is stuck on a small island where you still need a ship to return to the mainland,

but you don't need to worry there is still a way where you can use an item called Traveler's Map, you can buy it at the central market and use a maid to take it.

Find one of the city names where the city is one of the cities on the mainland.

in the 3rd try, you have done all the activities above, but in the Traveler's map menu there is only the option "To the Nearest Town",

and you still haven't returned to the mainland, I'm sure somewhere between where you landed must be between Oquila's eye, Lema Island, Iliya Island, or Kuit Island, of all the islands there must be a Wharf Manager, interact with them to open a shop then buy a Raft license, and register it. you can go home with it at least faster than swimming.

I tested it myself on the raft. You can still autopath, so you can leave it until you reach the mainland, but you have to be careful because there might be other dangers in the ocean like crazy players or pirates.

ok moving on to another character on the mainland, go to Velia, visit Proix and buy a Bartali Sailboat License, put it in storage and retrieve it via your lost character.

eh? Haven't finished Magnus' quest yet? just relax, register with your character in velia, then transport it to the location where your character got lost, wait for 10 minutes and you can use it.

eh? you don't have any other character? I hope you have 1000 Loyalty, buy Epheria Cog license from Pearl Shop press F3 > Tap Loyalty > scroll down until you find Epheria Cog License.

Scenario 2 point 2

In this scenario you are trapped in the sea of Margoria, this post was made after the removal of Port ratt from the location and the map, and before the release of the new Region, so changes may occur in the future,

The simulation I made after doing "ESC > Escape" made the character move to an area near World Boss Vell, this could be called a bad condition because your character might even be further away from the mainland.

There are 2 decisions you can make in this condition, the first is to use the Traveler's map, your character will move to Oquila's eye, after arriving at OE you can use the ship transport method as above or register for an Epheria Cog License.

But because sometimes there are unexpected moments like when using the Traveler Map your character doesn't move from the location and is still in the location, this is the last method.

Go to the pearl shop by pressing F3, select Loyalty, buy an Old moon flare, use that item and a rescue ship will come, it's a shame this ship is a bit slow to bring you back to the mainland.

Use this item with the right click, it can be used while in the water, a rescue ship will come

Just relax, when you fall this ship will stop and wait for you to get back up

it is very slow and has a certain time limit until the NPC disappears on its own

So don't be afraid to explore the ocean, many good people will accompany you on your adventure there.
