Meet&Greet: Pearl Abyss X G-Star Event Winners Interview
Greetings Adventurers!
Recently, two lucky Adventurers from Southeast Asia had the amazing opportunity to visit South Korea for an unforgettable experience thanks to the MEET & GREET: PEARL ABYSS X G-STAR 2019 event. Now that these two Adventurers have safely returned home, there is still one more thing to do… a special GM Note of an interview with them!
Our two Adventurers’ trip was packed with excitement and wonder - from a short tour of Pearl Abyss Korea Headquarters, a visit to the Pearl Abyss booth, participating in South Korea’s biggest gaming event of the year - G-Star 2019, playing Pearl Abyss’ newest title - Shadow Arena, watching the grand finals of the Arena of Arsha Korea Championship 2019, and even a tour of the city of Busan.
Everyone enjoyed a really great time, and we were really happy to have a chance to introduce our Adventurers to Pearl Abyss and to give a small peek into the country where Black Desert was created!
We look forward to more events like this in the future, and without further ado, please take a look and read what these two Adventurers - Spark and KnightNCat - had to say about the trip!
Q: What were your impressions about touring Pearl Abyss Headquarters?
KnightNCat: Excited, happy, awesome! The employee benefits, working environment, and lots of Black Spirit!
Spark: It was a memorable experience to get to know the ins-and-outs of being an employee of PA. Benefits and employee welfare is taken care of really well. How polished the offices are. Initially, the outer environment did not impress me but the refurbished interior of the office were beautifully constructed and were pleasing to the eyes. The most impressive part to me was the conversations we had with the staff who were extremely polite and friendly. They answered our questions to the best of their abilities as well. It really brought out an important part of communicating with the players (with us being the ambassadors).
Q: What did you feel after visiting G-Star 2019?
KnightNCat: I was overwhelmed at the sheer magnitude of the G-Star game show.Q: What did you feel after visiting G-Star 2019?
KnightNCat: The passion of Koreans towards the games they love.
Spark: The venue and scale of the event. G-STAR is an event that is much bigger than any gaming convention that I have visited back in Singapore, so it was an eye-opening experience.
The Arena of Arsha Tournament was the most fun part for me. We (SEA players) have always looked at the Korean server players for PvP skills and mechanics when we started playing. It was enjoyable to see different styles of PvP with the same characters and highly skillful plays.
Q: What was the most memorable thing from the MEET & GREET : PEARL ABYSS X G-STAR Event?
KnightNCat: Being able to make friends with gamerer from all over the world and speak with fellow gamers in real life about Black Desert Online, the game that we all love. It’s truly exciting that we have a common interest and passion which is Black Desert. Also, being able to speak with the developers and Producer of the game and get to know their viewpoint on certain aspects of the game.
Spark: The interactions we had. Talking to Pearl Abyss personnel really opened my eyes to the workings and dealings behind what goes into maintaining a game. The translations done were amazing and every question we had was put into effort to be asked for us.
Q: What do you wish from Pearl Abyss in the future?
KnightNCat: Keep up the excellent effort to make BDO the best MMORPG in the world!
Spark: If possible, to open up a Global Arena of Arsha challenge for different regions to come together to battle it out in an Arena of Arsha World Cup.
