Oh no! When I was reloading, the crocodile has swam to somewhere I can't reach!
By placing your matchlock rifle in the quick slots, you can skip the reloading animation after two shots by firing your first shot, tap your directional button to reset the firing stance and standing completely still and swapping to another matchlock. Repeat this and you'll never need to encounter the slow animation while your prey flees.
*This is an outdated video, but the steps are similar, after the previous two patches, you have to be standing completely still to change to another matchlock rifle. *
Steps to this tip:
1. Put matchlock A in slot 1
2. Put matchlock B in slot 2
3. Shoot your target with matchlock A
4. Move in any direction by tapping (WASD) once to reset the firing stance.
5. Swap to matchlock B, repeat.
Disclaimer:
For obvious reasons, this does not work horseback.
