One of the most frequent questions that I have seen asked/answered in Florin Chat are the following -

"Should I buy/make TRI/TET Yellow (Manos)/Blue (Roroju) clothes for imperial cooking?"

Or some variation of this question. This isn't a very straight forward question to answer cause it depends on a lot of variables.

The most important factor by far is consistency. How consistent you are with your imperial cooking turn-ins.

Every day you miss your turn-ins the worse cooking mastery clothes get.

So lets get into the maths.

First thing to understand is how mastery interacts with imperial turn-ins.

Cooking Mastery Extra Bonus

As visible from this table the extra profit steadily increases till the 1200 bracket and then the rate of increase drops even though its still keeps increasing.

We are only looking at 500-1200 mastery here because that is where most players would fall with their mastery for complete table you can find the link here.

Another important thing to note that the prices shown on imperial delivery vendor include a 250% extra profit boost.

Base Price of Cooking Boxes

This means that when the Mastery bonus from cooking mastery is applied to the box it will be applied on the base price and not the 250% boosted price.

Keeping these factors in mind

Total Extra Profit Per Day = [Base Cooking Box Selling Price] * Mastery Bonus * Number of Boxes Turned-in

Let's take an example.

Lets assume 350 CP, 700 Cooking Mastery (Turn-in Mastery), Guru Boxes.

Total Extra Profit (700 Mastery) = 320,000[Base Cooking Box Selling Price] * 36.48%[Mastery Bonus] * 175[Number of Boxes Turned-in]

Total Extra Profit (700 Mastery) = 20,428,800

This is the EXTRA BONUS you get JUST for having 700 mastery.

If we buy TET Manos Cook's Clothes at current price of 5.1bManos Cook's Clothes on 6th July 2020

The cooking mastery will increase to 1000

Total Extra Profit (1000 Mastery) = 320,000[Base Cooking Box Selling Price] * 67.24%[Mastery Bonus] * 175[Number of Boxes Turned-in]

Total Extra Profit (1000 Mastery) = 37,654,400

So from the purchase of TET MANOS COOK's Clothes you gain a bonus of

Total Extra Profit (1000 Mastery) - Total Extra Profit (700 Mastery)

37,654,400 - 20,428,800 = 17,225,600

So we gain 17.22(approx) million extra per day from our purchase.

At this profit margin it will take = [Price of Cooking Clothes/Extra Profit] number of days to pay off the clothes.

For our example this turns out to be 5.15b/17.22m = 299 days of imperial turn-ins with the purchase of Manos cooking clothes.

This might be worth to some people and will look absolutely insane to others.

This is why consistency is key for Imperial Turn-ins.

If we do similar maths for TET Blue (Roroju) Clothes instead of manos our mastery will increase from 700 to 950 instead of 1000.

Roroju Cook's Clothes 6th July 2020

But since the clothes only cost 795m the break even point is achieved with 57 days which is just under 2 months of Cooking Imperial Turn-ins.

TLDR :

In general its better to push mastery through accessories and cooking level as much as possible and then bolster those gains with TET Blue Clothes.
This is not to say that Manos cooking clothes are bad. It all depends on how you value time and how consistent you are with your Imperial Turn-ins.

You are incorrect when you say "At this profit margin it will take = [Price Of Cooking Clothes/Extra Profit] number of days to pay off the clothes." It should be [(Price of Cooking Clothes - (Price of Cooking Clothes * CM TAX))/Extra Profit], you don't have to make up the total price of the clothes through extra profit since the clothes itself doesn't lose it's value in the first place, you can still sell it for a higher/same/lower price from the original amount you bought it for.

TLDR; you only have to make up for the tax you will lose from reselling the clothes with the extra profit. So having higher / more mastery WILL always be better, as you cook you will eventually rack up more byproducts which would increase your total CP which would result more extra profit and Clothes provide the highest mastery bonus on a single eqiupment.

The question being answered here is going from no mastery clothes to either Roroju or Manos clothes.

If you are using clothes as a small boost to your income in the manner you are calculating. Then there are generally a lot better opputunities on the central market to Invest in stuff for gains in that manner or just hold on to the money since it basically only contributed  15-20m something extra per day.

Imperial cooking is a consistent activity hence we arent looking to offload the clothes just choosing the the best fit for the persons playstyle.
