started BDO just yesterday, and like everybody else I was overwhelmed with everything. one thing that kept me interested was the prospect of grinding which was advertised as being like 70% of your experience in BDO.
so a couple questions,
-
What are people grinding for? What kind of loot and for what?
-
Does everyone have the same type of gear? Or is there RNG and different stats/types of gear? i don't really understand how gears work in BDO.
i watched a few videos about enchancing gears, and everyone mentioned naru gear and enchancing it to another 'tier'? so everyone starts from naru gear and just progresses through enchancing?

If you just started, I would HIGHLY Recommend you do a seasonal start. Pick the Mountain of Eternal Winter quest line and go from there. That will get you to lvl 56 in maybe 4 hours. go lookup EvilDoUsHarms 2022 fast lvl guide. It basically is a step by step of hitting lvl 61 in 9hours. As for grinding avoid it till your geared and able to actually grind something worth it.
A seasonal start will get you a full set of Pen Tuvula gear which is a very good Mid Game set and will beat out anything thats not above TET boss gear. You also get alot of really good server buffs when you do the season that you wouldn't normally get. Which makes life much easier to start.

try to answer ur question:
1. Most of all people grinding for Trash Loot (TL) and sell it for silver or to get Accessory drop for your gear,
2. There was 2 main build for gear, Damage Reduction (DR) and Evasion, and there are no RNG for gear stats, maybe you can read this guide for more explanation about gear:
