All You Need to Know for the Thai/SEA Crossplay

On September 6, 2023 (Wed),

Thailand and Southeast Asia server adventurers will be able to meet each other!

Here's some of the information you’ll be most curious about for crossplay!

What is Crossplay?

*This is an example of server availability and can be changed when crossplay goes live.

Crossplay is a system that allows adventurers from different regions to enjoy the game’s content together, such as Node/Conquest Wars. Crossplay will be launched for the first time in Black Desert for Thailand and Southeast Asia. With the implementation of crossplay, the number of servers adventurers can choose to play on will effectively increase, allowing for a more comfortable gameplay experience.

Many of you are probably curious about server availability. For the Thailand and Southeast Asia crossplay, there will be 1) crossplay servers and 2) Thailand and Southeast Asia exclusive servers

First, crossplay servers are shared servers where adventurers from Thailand and Southeast Asia can freely explore the world of Black Desert together or enjoy PvP. After the implementation of crossplay, Node and Conquest Wars can only be enjoyed on crossplay servers.

Second, Thailand and Southeast Asia exclusive servers are those that are only exposed to and can only be accessed by adventurers in each region. You can still enjoy various Black Desert content on these exclusive servers as before, but, again, Node and Conquest Wars can only be enjoyed after moving to crossplay servers.

In short, you can play on each regional server as before or explore Black Desert with adventurers from other regions on crossplay servers:

Play Together!

Guild

Crossplay allows adventurers from Thailand and Southeast Asia servers to play together in the same guild. Now, you can enjoy various guild content such as Node/Conquest War and guild quests with more adventurers.

Node/Conquest War

You can also participate in Node/Conquest War together on crossplay servers, making it more intense and exciting.

There will be no Node/Conquest War from Sept 6 (Wed) to Sept 9 (Sat), and the first Node War will begin on Sept 10 (Sun). All previously occupied nodes and territories will be liberated and all castles/command posts and their annex buildings constructed in the Black Desert world will be removed. In addition, the tax and information accumulated in Node/Conquest War and tribute wagons will be reset with the introduction of crossplay. Please note that the amount of tax acquired may be slightly lower in early joint Node Wars. Please refer to the patch notes updated after the crossplay maintenance for more details.

Central Market

The Central Market will also be merged. As a result, the number of users of the Central Market is expected to increase significantly, leading to an increase in demand and supply. Adventurers will have a more active market for buying and selling in the crossplay environment.

Will There be Any Changes?

Language Selection

Additional languages will be supported on each of the servers. Adventurers can play in English, Thai, or Indonesian regardless of the server. Additionally, you can select the chat language in the game settings to only see chats in your desired language.

Server Time

Server time will be GMT+8 with the start of crossplay. For Thai adventurers who used the GMT+7 time zone, there may be some confusion regarding maintenance and weekly quest reset times. You can check the detailed time changes through the patch notes released after the crossplay update.

Official Website

The official website will also be integrated into one with crossplay. The new website will open with the current posts, screenshots, and videos intact. Prepare to see more diverse posts, such as tips and screenshots, with so many more adventurers playing together!

Discord and SNS

All official Black Desert Discord, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels will continue to operate as they are now. Thai adventurers can receive Black Desert news from the Thai SNS channel, and Southeast Asian adventurers can receive news from the Southeast Asian SNS channel.

Family/Character/Guild Name

After crossplay is applied, it will be impossible for the same family, character, and guild names to exist on one server. Therefore, a certain symbol will be added to the end of duplicate family/character/guild names in Thai and Southeast Asian servers. Adventurers who are affected by this can change their name to a new one using the “Name Change Coupon” that will be given through the Mailbox. Detailed rules for handling duplicate names will be announced later. We ask for your understanding as this is an inevitable drawback from applying  crossplay.

We've briefly looked at some of the questions you may have about crossplay. We will prepare and provide more detailed information later on to ensure that there are no inconveniences when crossplay goes live.

Thank you.
