I have specifically unticked the box to add a desktop icon during the reinstallation of the game and that worked well for a week so I thought I didn't have to worry about it anymore.

After the recent maintenance though, a new BDO icon has popped up on my desktop. WTF!

This really needs to stop happening.

I know deleting that new icon is just a press of the 'Delete' key but, c'mon! man, why the heck would I want a separate desktop button for BDO when there's a PearlAbyss Launcher icon already?
